Terms of Sale
At Prime Bark, every board is handcrafted with care, precision, and a whole lot of Texas charm. These Terms of Sale help set clear expectations so we can deliver an exceptional experience every time.
By placing an order or submitting payment, you agree to the terms below. If you have any questions, please reach out before ordering—we're always happy to clarify.
1. Handcrafted Nature & Wood Variations
Every board is made by hand from real hardwoods. Because of that:
- Grain patterns, figure, tones, and small natural imperfections will vary from piece to piece.
- End-grain and live-grain sections may absorb finish differently.
- Minor seasonal movement in the wood over time is normal.
These variations are part of what makes each piece one-of-a-kind and are not considered defects.
Pattern Variations & Joinery Tolerances
Many Prime Bark designs—especially optical illusion, plaid, checkerboard, and geometric patterns— require complex joinery and precise end-grain assembly. Because these are made by hand from natural wood:
- Minor offsets between segments;
- Slight asymmetries in the pattern;
- Tone that differs slighty from photographs
- Micro-gaps or non-perfect cosmetic alignments
All these are normal, expected, and structurally sound. They do not affect the board’s performance or longevity.
For this reason, aesthetic preferences related to pattern alignment, grain variation, or joinery tolerances are not eligible for return or refund. Customers are encouraged to review all photos and descriptions carefully before purchasing. We’re always happy to provide additional detail photos or short videos of a piece upon request.
2. Care & Maintenance
Each board ships with care instructions. We also publish our wood care guidelines here. Following these helps ensure longevity and appearance:
- Never place your board in a dishwasher or soak it in standing water.
- Do not leave the board wet. Do not drip dry it. Hand wash as frequently as you like but wipe it dry when done.
- Avoid leaving it in direct sunlight, extreme heat, or extreme cold.
- Apply mineral oil to the board periodically.
Damage resulting from improper care or neglect is not covered under these Terms of Sale.
3. Shipping
All boards are shipped in sturdy, reenforced boxes and include insurance and tracking. Once your board arrives:
- Inspect the board and packaging.
- If there is damage, email photos of the packaging, the board, and the shipping label as soon as possible.
If damage is reported within the 3-day window, we will file a carrier claim and, as appropriate, repair or remake the board. Shipping damage reported after this window is not covered.
4. Returns & Satisfaction
Because each piece is handcrafted and often custom or personalized, returns are limited. That said, we want you to feel confident ordering a board you haven’t seen in person, so we do accept unused items back under the conditions below.
Eligibility for Return
You may request a return within 7 days of delivery if the board:
- is unused and has not been washed, oiled, or conditioned;
- shows no signs of wear, cutting, or staining; and
- is packed securely in the original shipping box to protect it during its return.
Return Shipping & Restocking Fee
- Return shipping is the buyer’s responsibility.
- A restocking fee equal to the original outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. This simply covers what we already paid to ship your order to you.
Condition on Arrival & Damage in Transit
Refunds are contingent on the board arriving back to us in undamaged, resale-ready condition. If the board is damaged due to inadequate packing or carrier mishandling, we may not be able to issue a refund. In those cases, any remedy will depend on the carrier’s insurance and claim process.
Non-Returnable Items
- Custom designs or special-order dimensions;
- Personalized or engraved pieces;
- Boards that have been used, washed, oiled, or otherwise modified
Separate from the above, Prime Bark will address any clear workmanship defects at our discretion, which may include repair or replacement. Wood movement, natural characteristics, finish wear from normal use, and improper care are not considered defects.
